“Connecting People and Connecting Communities” and “Empowering the Public and Communities with GIS Technology” have been my mission statements in my GIS community outreach efforts. Public Participatory GIS is an approach to getting the public more involved in the planning and decision making process.
There has been a significant change in GIS technology since its inception, particularly with the introduction of Google Maps, and other publicly available GIS websites with open source technology. Many web-GIS application can be easily customized to meet each community’s needs. With this blog site, I would like to share my projects with you so we can build a better community.
